Tribeca Loft

This Tribeca Loft is one of four light filled penthouses within a classic 1920 Italianate limestone facade. A unique 4 bedroom, 5 Bath floor-through apartment that boasts Lutron lighting, shade and climate control integrated into a Savant Controlled Audio Video Distribution system with two Surround Sound Zones. Client has front building entry Intercom and cameras integrated into Savant as the building only offers a part time doorman. Security cameras discretely placed throughout the apartment also offer real time monitoring through Savant. The client loved his existing B&O speaker system, so they were integrated as an alternate listening option to the living room’s dedicated surround system.

Edgewater House

The client directed his interior designer to create a James Bond 007 experience within this five story townhouse. This ultimate bachelor pad overlooks the Hudson River and Upper Manhattan. Initially built for spec and then with construction too far along prior to our engagement, Gilmore’s Sound Advice could not re-wire for a centralized, paneled system. Therefore, we turned to Lutron QS wireless to handle the varied mix of warm dim and tunable lighting fixtures. This necessitated an additional mix of din rail, DMX and 0-10 drivers. One of the hurdles was to retrofit wiring into the Living Room’s 16 foot high, 3-tiered chandelier, which required the DMX remote drivers to be located in the canopy. The same conditions were presented with the (11) Cove lights, which were also DMX tunable white fixtures. Additional lighting requests for interacting and programming with the security, garage door, the scheduling of Lutron QS wireless Shades, Triathlon shades and Outdoor lighting scheduling were successfully accommodated.

Gilmore’s Sound Advice loved the challenge that his project brought us, and believe that Lutron Wireless QS saved the day for this client. Additionally, the entire Lutron Lighting and Shade systems seamlessly translate into a complete Savant AV distribution and control system. Whether watching a movie in one of (2) theaters, or pouring a glass of fine wine from the custom wine cellar off the main kitchen, to enjoying time in the cigar room, or as a throng of guests climbs the stairs into the Living Room, every room speaks to the Essence of Pleasance. When the client is home at night, the light scenes make this a home 007 would be proud to call his own.

Tranquil Upstate Home Office & Studio

Gilmore’s Sound Advice is a premium custom integrator based in New York, New York. Principal Ed Gilmore was summoned to a beautiful upstate property on the banks of the Hudson River, where a client was planning a barn conversion, creating a home office and yoga studio with scenic views of the water. The property, a working farm where llamas are bred and raised, is a two hour-plus drive north from Manhattan, and this finance executive had a minimalist but elegant vision for his space. One of the key stipulations was that he wanted superlative music playback that was unseen to the eye. Interruption of the open space due to bulky, unsightly loudspeakers was unthinkable. His expectations were for an engaging listening The open space designed for work and peaceful reflection experience to enjoy TIDAL and other streaming content along with an array of favorite podcasts.
